What is QuickRecovery® Software? QuickRecovery® Software restores your FastAlign 5110Pro satellite meter back to original factory condition after power or software/data transfer interruption that can almost always result in a dead meter. Here is how.
If you have had any experience with programming a satellite receiver via computer, you have more than likely ran into a situation that you accidentally either lost power, loaded a non-compatible software or channel list, or had an interruption during your transfer that resulted in your receiver “going bad” or dying and becoming useless. You may have heard people mentioning that you have to open the receiver, find the flash memory and having to JTag the receiver in order to reset or erase the flash memory and reloading the default software or channel/satellite list or software.
This is the same for almost any electronic device, including satellite meters. Software or data is stored on your meter’s flash memory. If you load the wrong software, or if you loose power while you are loading data to your meter, the flash memory becomes unusable resulting in a dead meter. Before, you had to open your meter, find the flash chip, use JTag hardware & software to erase the flash memory, then load factory software back onto your device. Sounds complicated? The satellite meter also features back light to allow the satellite installer to install in the dark. The screen is divided into 5 sections.
The top section provides the Azimuth, Elevation, and LNBF Polarization of the desired satellite.
The left middle section provides the location of the desired satellite, the transponder frequency, symbol rate, LNBF LO frequency, LNBF polarization ( 13=V / 18=H ), and 22KHz power.
The right middle section provides signal information such as signal level, signal quality, strength, and signal noise. If there is no “S” reading, there is no connection between the LNBF and the meter.
The left bottom section provides the databank of the pre-programmed satellite parameter.

I always get this question asked: Will a satellite meter make my job easier? I always reply why of course it will, free to air satellite installers and subscription installers use meters because it speeds up the satellite scan and installation procedure. Then, I explain the whole procedure and show them my video that is on our Youtube channel. What is the next question? Which meter should I buy? I have used many expensive and elaborate type of meters and they all work great. Some are better than others of course and some easy to use and other are very complicated. I do need to say a couple things about the Lexium FastAlign 5110Pro and that is this meter is very compact, in fact it fits in my coat pocket. I do love the feature the meter has to use in conjunction with the receiver to power the meter.
